Attribute - Hiding ( Hierarchical ) Inner Product Encryption ∗

چکیده

This paper proposes the first inner product encryption (IPE) scheme that is adaptively secure and fully attribute-hiding (attribute-hiding in the sense of the definition by Katz, Sahai and Waters), while the existing IPE schemes are either fully attribute-hiding but selectively secure or adaptively secure but weakly attribute-hiding. The proposed IPE scheme is proven to be adaptively secure and fully attribute-hiding under the decisional linear assumption in the standard model. The IPE scheme is comparably as efficient as the existing attribute-hiding IPE schemes. We also present a variant of the proposed IPE scheme with the same security that achieves shorter public and secret keys. A hierarchical IPE scheme can be constructed that is also adaptively secure and fully attribute-hiding under the same assumption. In this paper, we extend the dual system encryption technique by Waters into a more general manner, in which new forms of ciphertext and secret keys are employed and new types of information theoretical tricks are introduced along with several forms of computational reduction. ∗This is the full version of a paper appearing in EUROCRYPT 2012, the 31st International Conference on the Theory and Applications of Cryptographic Techniques, April 15–19, 2012, Cambridge, United Kingdom.

Adaptively Attribute-Hiding (Hierarchical) Inner Product Encryption

This paper proposes the first inner product encryption (IPE) scheme that is adaptively secure and fully attribute-hiding (attributehiding in the sense of the definition by Katz, Sahai and Waters), while the existing IPE schemes are either fully attribute-hiding but selectively secure or adaptively secure but weakly attribute-hiding. The proposed IPE scheme is proven to be adaptively secure and ...

The relation and transformation between hierarchical inner product encryption and spatial encryption

Hierarchical inner product encryption (HIPE) and spatial encryption (SE) are two important classes of functional encryption (FE) that have numerous applications. Although HIPE and SE both involve some notion of linear algebra, the former works in vectors while the latter is based on (affine) spaces. Moreover, they currently possess different properties in terms of security, anonymity (payload/a...

Predicate- and Attribute-Hiding Inner Product Encryption in a Public Key Setting

In this paper, we propose a reasonable definition of predicate-hiding inner product encryption (IPE) in a public key setting, which we call inner product encryption with ciphertext conversion (IPE-CC), where original ciphertexts are converted to predicate-searchable ones by an helper in possession of a conversion key. We then define a notion of full security for IPE-CC, which comprises three se...

Fully Secure Unbounded Inner-Product and Attribute-Based Encryption

In this paper, we present the first inner-product encryption (IPE) schemes that are unbounded in the sense that the public parameters do not impose additional limitations on the predicates and attributes used for encryption and decryption keys. All previous IPE schemes were bounded, or have a bound on the size of predicates and attributes given public parameters fixed at setup. The proposed unb...

Decentralizing Policy-Hiding Attribute-Based Encryption

Attribute-based encryption (ABE) enables limiting access to encrypted data to users who possess certain attributes. Different aspects of ABE have been studied, such as the multi-authority setting (MA-ABE), and policy hiding, meaning the access policy is unknown to unauthorized parties, as in predicate encryption (PE). However, no practical scheme so far provided both properties, which are often...
